Student Programs - Sample Itinerary

  • About the Trip: We offer student programs in a wide variety of itineraries. One of our most popular is our 2 day rock climbing program which is highlighted here. We also offer one day and multi-day programs. Following the basic itinerary of any of our trips listed on our website, a custom itinerary can be arranged for any group; from YMCA to Boy Scouts, summer camp events, private travel camp programs, high school trips, etc.
  • Group Size: 8-13 participants with 1-2 guides.
  • Grade: 5.4-5.10+, beginner top-rope routes, ground school, group activities.
  • Equipment: All climbing gear is provided which includes all group gear as well as each student's harness, shoes and helmet. All students need to bring are your clothes and personal items. You may print from our web page a detailed what to bring list , directions, and this itinerary.
  • Cost of the Trip: A two day student program is $170 per student. Other programs range in cost based upon what's provided, length of trip, etc.
  • Your Cost May Include Any or All of the Following: Personal and group camping and climbing gear, meals, guides, expert climbing instruction.
  • Not Included: Personal gear.
  • Meals: We provide meals as requested for an additional charge, or as an all inclusive program.
  • Preparation: A basic rock climbing class in the rock gym, reading rock climbing instructional books and watching rock climbing videos will all enhance your experience and steepen your learning curve.
  • Day 1: Meet at Bowler Campground between 8:30am and 9:00am. Guides provide gear, and begin with belay school, orientation, safety, ethics, and overview of the program. Climbing at a nearby site, within walking distance. Equipment, terminology, movement on rock, tying in, belaying, and etiquette at the crags are all covered during the day.
  • Day 2: Continuation of climbing program which will include new techniques, new routes to climb, and learning to rappel. Each day's activities end between 4:30pm and 5:00pm.
