- Sleeping Bag: As you will not be carrying your sleeping bag, any bag that keeps you warm will do. Temperatures rarely drop below freezing.
- Ground Pad: Inflatable thermarest style are among the best though foam pads will work as well.
- Tent: A tent should be in working condition. Three season tents are recommended.

- **Notes: SYMG provides all of the above items at no extra charge for those who need them only if checked on registration form. You may also bring your own.
- Meals: Bring food for lunch and anything you can not go without.
- Shoes: Bring a pair of comfortable walking shoes, or lightweight hiking boots.
- Pants: Long comfortable cotton pants, or jeans for sitting around the campfire. You'll also want a pair of running tights, sweats, or long johns to climb in if the weather is not warm enough for shorts. Shorts
- Shorts: Comfortable, durable, and non-restrictive best describe the type of shorts you'll want for climbing.
- Shirts: Bring a long and short sleeve, one with a collar, and a thermal underwear top.
- Sweater / Jacket: Fleece, pile, or wool, jackets or pullovers are best. This item should be something to keep you warm at night, and comfortable enough to climb in if it's cool during the days.
- Rain Coat / Shell: Gore-Tex or a similar fabric. Wind and rain resistant.
- Baseball Cap: A baseball cap or full brimmed hat is good for sun protection.
- Wool or Fleece Hat: This is an essential item. It can get cold at night and a warm hat will be your savior should the weather get cold & windy.
- Sunglasses: Lenses that have ultra violet protection.
- Personal Toiletries: Sunscreen, chapstick, lotion.
- Medications: Bring any special medications you need.
- Water Bottle: A bottle should not leak, have a large mouth and hold at least one liter. If you do not own one recycle a plastic Gatorade container.
- Camera: Don't forget extra film/cards and batteries!
