Meet the Experts
The senior staff at SYMG had the opportunity to take our friends at Columbia Sportswear on an excursion into the Sierra high country. The designers were eager to see how their new designs were holding up and we were eager to show them! The outing proved exciting, with a 4th class ascent of a 12,242' peak, strong, cold winds and even some snow!
Yosemite Grand Traverse
This backpack trip is a real stunner with highlights including a Half Dome ascent, a section of the John Muir Trail, a tour of Yosemite Valley and a nearly 60-mile hiking traverse through the heart of Yosemite. This Yosemite adventure won an award in National Geographic Adventure Magazine for Best New Trips in the World article in 2007.

Costa Rica - Tortuguero National Park
Greg Aiello kayaks through Costa Rica's Tortuguero National Park where he gets a close look at the jungle's wildlife. Tortuguero National Park is one of Costa Rica's most remote parks and is accessible by boat and plane only. Known for its large biological diversity, Tortuguero encompasses 11 different ecological habitats, including swamp, rain forest, mangroves and beaches.
