- Sleeping Bag: As you will,
not be carrying your sleeping bag, any bag that keeps you warm will do. Temperatures rarely drop below freezing. - Ground Pad: Inflatable thermarest style are among the best, though foam pads will work as well.
- Tent: A tent should be in working condition. Three season tents are recommended.
- **Note: SYMG can provide all of the above if indicated on your registration form.
- Day Pack: Needed to carry any personal items you want along for the hikes as well as two liters of water.
- Shoes: Bring a pair of lightweight hiking boots that are broken in. Also bring a pair of Tevas or comfortable shoes for around camp.
- Pants: Long comfortable cotton pants, or jeans for sitting around the campfire.
- Shorts: A couple pairs of comfortable shorts for hiking.
- Underwear: 2 pair are generally sufficient.
- Shirts: Bring a long and a short sleeve, one with a collar and a thermal underwear top.
- Sweater / Jacket: Fleece, pile, or wool jackets and pullovers are best. This item should be something to keep you warm at night, and comfortable enough to hike in if it's cool during the days.
- Rain Coat / Shell: Gore-Tex or a similar fabric. Wind and rain resistant.
- Baseball Cap: A baseball cap or full brimmed hat is good for sun protection.
- Wool or Fleece Hat: This is an essential item. It can get cold at night and a warm hat will be your savior should the weather get cold & windy.
- Sunglasses: Lenses that have ultra violet protection.
- Towel: Some sort of cloth for washing needs.
- Personal Toiletries: Sunscreen, chapstick, insect repellent, lotion, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.
- Medications: Bring any special medications you need.
- Flashlight or Headlamp: Extra batteries.

- Camera: And film.
The above is by no means a complete or exhaustive list. If you have questions, call SYMG and ask. Remember, SYMG brings all group cooking gear, stoves, water filters, maps, matches, compasses, emergency/first aid gear, and toilet paper.
