Pristine lakes, granite peaks, tumbling freestone streams, and blue sky dominate the landscape on this dramatic backpacking trip in the Yosemite backcountry. For those with just a few days to experience backpacking in the High Sierra, we believe our High Tour to be the ideal trip. Stay in accommodations the first night, where you'll meet your guide, have a trip orientation, and pack your gear, which we provide. On day two, hike four miles of scenic trail to your night's camp. The next day, we'll hike past beautiful lakes as we make our way to the summit of a 10,000'+ peak, where views stretch the length of the Sierra. On day four, break camp and hike back to the trailhead, arriving mid-day. |

Remote timberline lakes, spectacular views of
the Sierra Crest, and an itinerary geared towards exploration
of this seemingly untouched landscape, create an ideal setting
for our most popular backpacking trip. Hike through the Ansel
Adams Wilderness, and see views of Yosemite seldom seen by others.
On the first day, meet your guide at your accommodations for
orientation & gear organization. The following morning, hike
approximately 5 miles to basecamp. The next two days are spent
hiking to numerous sub-alpine and alpine lakes, and may include
a summit trek where you'll have the opportunity to look down
on the famed Yosemite monolith, Half Dome. Day 5 will arrive
too quickly, and five miles later, we'll arrive back at the
trailhead in the early afternoon. |

A grand crossing of the Sierra Nevada through Sequoia Nat'l Park, culminating in an ascent of Mt. Whitney from the west, coupled with dramatic hiking deep in the wilderness makes this backpacking trip one of our most spectacular adventures. This 83-mile Trans-Sierra crossing takes us through the most remote spots of the High Sierra. You'll climb Mt. Whitney from a direction that hikers seldomly see. Outside Magazine rated hiking the JMT with SYMG as one of the 50 greatest trips in the world. It spans 212 miles from Yosemite National Park to Mt. Whitney along the crest of the famed Sierra Nevada. Porter guides hike in 4 re-supplies of food during the journey, making the pack weight manageable each section. The JMT is, for many, a lifelong goal and accomplishment. Begin planning early if you're interested in joining us on a departure this year, our limited availability and small group size makes this trip fill quickly. |
