Wine and Wilderness
Join us for an amazing experience as we combine the beauty of
California's High Sierra Mountains with the exquisite wines of California's
Napa, Sonoma,
and Santa Cruz Mountains' Wine Country. We hike into a
stunning alpine lake base-camp while horses carry all of our personal
belongings, camping gear, food and most importantly, the WINE! From our
9,000' lake-front basecamp, each day will present the opportunity to day
hike to other lakes, fish for trout, relax or climb a nearby 11,000' peak.
Each of our three nights in the backcountry will showcase spectacular wines
hosted by wine-makers and winery owners from a variety of famous California
wineries.
2008 featured Sterling, Moon Mountain, Acacia and Bella Wineries and we'll be adding to that list for the 2009 series. Winemakers, vineyard owners, and tasting rooms mangers all offer their wine, wisdom, and wit while pairing an array of their wines to our tantalizing dinners all served around a blazing campfire in the mountain range John Muir aptly called "The Range of Light."
